Edward W. Collins
Edward W. Collins, 88, of Bulger, Smith Township, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, in his home.
Mr. Collins was born on June 1, 1933, in Bulger, on their family farm. He was a son of the late Michael E. and Nora Bianchini Collins.
Ed loved to work, he always had some type of job that he was working on. Over the years, Ed worked many jobs, most recently he worked as a truck driver for Aloe Coal. Previously he worked for Dravo Steel Co. for 20 years and even had his own business, Ed’s Lawn Mower Service, which he did for 20 years.
Ed along with his children and siblings, kept his family’s farm alive. He worked vigorously to tend to his farm, until he could not anymore. Ed always made sure that he never missed an auction or tractor show. He also enjoyed playing guitar. He loved playing for his friends and family and even playing with some of his friends. Although all these little things made up who Edward Collins was, the biggest part of his life was his family.
He was a proud husband, father and grandfather and there was no one else that he loved more in this world than his family. Ed will forever be missed by those that loved him.
Surviving are his children; Roy Collins of Ky., Lori (Darin) Kellar of Bulger, and Loretta (Craig) Whyte of Bulger; grandchildren, Emily, Colton and Martina Whyte; and siblings, Joseph Collins of Clinton, Amelia (Dave) Butler of Pittsburgh, Jean Esno of Bulger, and Janet (Bob) Schmac of Colo..
Along with his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Plants Collins (2015).
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022, at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 106 St. John Street, Midway, (724-796-3301). A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, in the funeral home. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
