David Russell Ford
David Russell Ford, 73, of Burgettstown, lost his battle with ALS on Monday, March 21, 2022.
He was born on June 22, 1948, in Clarksburg, W.Va. He was a 1966 graduate of Burgettstown Area High School.
After graduating he served with the U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion, Fifty-Eight (Seabees), in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970.
David was a member of the Richard Vaux Masonic Lodge 454.
His career was in the trucking industry, with most of his time as an owner / operator. He was very involved as a pit crew member of super late model dirt track racing at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. Dave enjoyed restoring classic and antique Ford trucks.
David is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cheryl Findling Ford; and son, Scott Ford (Maria and daughter, Ruby); three sisters, Diana Myers, Ruth (Robin) Brown, and Kathy Burns; sister-in-law, Patricia Findling; nephew, John Findling (Renee and daughters); niece Jenna Zeh (Tim and daughters); and nephew, Jared Findling (Evelyn and daughter and son).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Eva Lee Ford; and his in-laws, Betty Findling and John Findling Sr. & Jr.
At the request of the family, all services will be private.
