Hayward Louis Detrick, 90, of Washington, formerly of Weirton, West Virginia, died Friday, April 29, 2022, in Premier Health Center, Washington.

He was born November 14, 1931, in Richeyville, a son of the late Webster and Caroline Detrick.

Mr. Detrick was retired from Drankenfeld, where he had worked for many years, and was a member of Upper Ten Mile Presbyterian Church in Prosperity.

During the Korean War, he served in the Army for two years, earning a National Defense Service Medal.

His wife, Helen Gibbs Detrick, died in 2009.

Surviving are a son, Colin (Anthony) Detrick of Orlando, Florida; two daughters, Jamie A. (Gary) Cottrell of Claysville and Tammy (Ashley) Deskins of Coffey, Missouri; a brother, Glenn Detrick of Ohio; a sister, Vivian Harvey of Arizona; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Deceased are a son, Tom Detrick, and several brothers and sisters.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing or service.
