Gerald J. Huffman
With his daughter and other loved ones near, Gerald J. “Snuffy” Huffman, 79, of Morgantown, W.Va., joined the kingdom of heaven Sunday, May 1, 2022.
He was born June 19, 1942, in Waynesburg, a son of Dorothy Ruth Huffman Richter Scott and stepfather, William Richter.
Snuffy was retired from Mountain View Gardens as outside maintenance and security, where he also served as an honorary family member to many of his neighbors. He attended Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle and was a former member of the Waynesburg Fraternal Order of Eagles.
To say he loved to fish was an understatement. Many of his loved ones’ favorite memories are quiet moments shared by the water, waiting to reel in a big one! He had an infectious smile and an ornery sense of humor that will never be forgotten.
Surviving are his two daughters, the pride of his life, Kimberly (Alton) Joseph of Millsboro, Del., and Chelsie (Daniel) Squires of Mt. Morris; an adored granddaughter, Alexa Squires; and a loving brother, George Richter of Waynesburg.
Deceased are a sister, Eileen Bird; and a brother, Terry Richter.
Words cannot express enough thanks to Shirley Shipman, John and Dorothy Squires Sr., and Amedisys Hospice for all their care, kindness and support.
Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m., the hour of services, Thursday, May 5, in the Behm Funeral Home, 182 W. High Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, with Pastor Joseph Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Oakmont Cemetery, Waynesburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
