George R. Price
George R. Price, 74, of Prosperity, died Thursday, May 12, 2022 in Woodside Place of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
He was born July 31, 1947, in Prosperity, a son of the late Samuel R. and Georgie L. Ealy Price.
George was a 1964 graduate of Washington High School and went on to study at Pittsburgh Technical Institute, but his studies were interrupted by his service in the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam War, where he served in the 630th Transportation Company while stationed in Vietnam. He resumed his studies after his deployment with DeVry Institute.
He worked as a health imaging field engineer for Eastman Kodak, and retired from Carestream Health, Inc.
He was a lifelong farmer, loved woodworking and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
On August 23, 1968, he married Kristy J. Johnson. Mrs. Price survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Laura (Lane Lovett III) Lovett of South Franklin; a son, Daniel (Stacey) Price of South Franklin; a brother, Eddie (Vivian) Price of Prosperity; two sisters, Connie Moneta of Greensburg and Margie Barrett of Avella; four grandchildren, Lane Lovett IV and Lindsey Lovett and Samuel and Noah Price, and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, S. Robert Price and Larry Price; and a sister, Sarah Leota Price.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, in the Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022, with Pastor Scott Lawrence officiating. All other services will be private.
