Walter Whiteman
Walter “Bill” Whiteman, 85, of Washington, died Monday, May 9, 2022, in The Grove of Washington.
He was born August 31, 1936, in Washington, a son of the late Walter William Whiteman, Sr. and Mildred Dailey Whiteman.
Mr. Whiteman worked as a roofer. He was an avid walker and enjoyed fishing. He also was a people person who enjoyed talking with everyone.
On July 11, 1966, he married Mary Jane Harris, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John Whiteman and Robert (Tiffany) Whiteman, both of Washington; three daughters, Mona (Ruth) Morris and Jill (Clyde) Shaver, both of Washington, and Joann (Albert) Edwards of Cokeburg; two sisters, Margaret White of Washington, and Delores Stetson of Erie; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 p.m., the time of service, Monday, May 16, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Jeffrey Bender officiating.
