James Hugh Bailey

James Hugh Bailey, 90, of Kiln, Miss., died Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

Mr. Bailey was born September 16, 1931, a son of the late James Grant and Hilda Mae Jordan Bailey.

Jim’s first wife, Virginia Lee O’Brien Bailey, is deceased.

He is survived by his second wife, Jeanette Bailey; two daughters, Debbie DeJohn (Guy) of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Tami McClung (Alan) of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a son, Gregory J. Bailey (Cheryl) of Kiln; two stepsons, Donnie Allie of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Scott Allie of San Juan, Texas; five grandchildren, Rachel DeJohn, Jessica DeJohn Carter (Eric), Karina De John, Amber Austin (Cody) and Stephen Allie; seven great-grandchildren, Ellie Mae, Lily, Sue and Coral Lee Carter, Abel and Grayson Austin, Stephen and Samantha Allie.

Jim was a 1949 graduate of Carmichaels Area High School and served in the United States Army in Germany from 1952 to 1954.

He worked at 7-11 stores for 30 years. He retired in 1989. He then worked for Royal Caribbean Cruise Co., describing it as the best job of his life.

He and Jeanette enjoyed road trips and cruises. Jim’s family was the great joy of his life. He liked to golf, scuba dive, hunt, white water rafting, hiking, gardening, and cutting and trimming trees. He retired to have fun and enjoy life.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. May 25, in the Paul M. Lesako Funeral Home, 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, PA 15320 (724-966-5100).

Interment, with military honors, will follow in Greene County Memorial Park.
