James D. Geresti, 64, of Canonsburg, formerly of Avella, passed away Sunday evening, May 22, 2022 in the Donnell House, Washington.

He was born on April 21, 1958 in Pittsburgh, son of the late James S. and Rose M. Milvet Geresti.

James was a 1977 graduate of Avella High School and worked in maintenance for the Washington Hospital for 38 years, retiring in 2016.

He was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish (St. Michael Church).

James was involved in a lot of community organizations and had been a volunteer fireman since he was a teenager for Avella Volunteer Fire Department Company 35.

When he wasn’t at the fire department, he enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

He had lived in Canonsburg for the past 12 years.

Surviving are two sons, Samuel Geresti and Benjamin Geresti both of Burgettstown; his fiancee, Terri LeMasters of Canonsburg; a brother, Kevin (Gina) Geresti of Avella; nephews, Cameron and Garrett Geresti; and his fiancee’s mother, Patti Anesetti.

Friends and family will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home, Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312, where a Blessing Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 27, with Rev. Harry Bielewicz officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
