Ruth Ann Barney
Ruth Ann Barney, 80, of Washington, died Monday, May 23, 2022, in Canonsburg Hospital.
She was born October 20, 1941, in Washington, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Ethel Moss Boardley.
Ruth Ann was a 1959 graduate of Trinity High School and worked at Washington Hospital for over 40 years; her last position was in Medical Records.
She enjoyed crocheting, adult coloring books and flower gardening. She attended the Washington First Church of the Nazarene. She was a member of the Washington Moose Lodge.
On October 24, 1959, in Winchester, Va., she married Lonnie Barney. Mr. Barney died April 23, 2002.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathi A. (Donald) Call of Houston; two brothers, Thomas Boardley of Warren, Ohio, and Hugh (Debbie) Boardley of Washington; a sister, Joyce (Bob) Madison of Washington; four grandchildren, David Lee and Brandon Barney, and Courtney and Allison Call.
Deceased are three sons, Lonnie Barney Jr., Benjamin “David” Barney, and John, a son who died in childbirth.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 26, in the Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 27. All other services will be private.
