Joseph John Perri, Jr.
Joseph John Perri, Jr., 73, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, May 28, 2022 in St. Clair Health.
He was born November 4, 1948 in Pittsburgh, son of the late Joseph J. and Ruth Dorothy Staub Perri, Sr.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, St. Mary Church, Cecil. He loved Jesus and would often attend mass at Holy Rosary and St. Patrick Churches.
He grew up on a farm and later raised horses and bees. He loved walking and collecting and learning about mushrooms, especially because he was a chef and loved cooking. He owned and operated his restaurant “Perri’s Fine Foods”, and his gas station and plaza in Greenville. After losing his sight he still had vision and continued to work as a self employed construction contractor.
He was an avid sports fan, listening to local high school and Pittsburgh sports teams. He loved spending time with family and his church.
Surviving are son, Joe M. (Kelli) Perri of Cecil; daughters, Melissa (Glenn) Teeter of Washington, and Kristie (Marc) Fredericks of Imperial; grandchildren, Sara (Jared) Rastoka, Brooke and Zachary Perri, Nia and Nicco Fredericks, brother, Richard “Birdeye” (Janet) Perri of Cecil, sisters, Sue Miller of Gilmore, Cecil Twp., and Ruthie (Harry) Bushmire of Cecil; and a sister-in-law, Cathy Perri of Cecil.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Michele Ann Perri; and a brother, Chuck ‘Winkle’ Perri.
Friends will be received from 3 to 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, at the Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil, where prayers of transfer will be said followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 7 p.m. in St. Oscar Romero Parish, Holy Rosary Church, Muse with Father George DeVille, Officiating. Interment will be private in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cecil.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest planting a fruit tree in his memory.
