Thomas Patrick Burrows

Thomas Patrick Burrows, 83, of New Port Richey, Fla., passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022.

Thomas was born April 1, 1939, in Canonsburg, to the late Delbert and Virginia Miller Burrows.

A 1957 graduate of Canonsburg High School, Thomas joined the U.S. Army (and subsequently served in the National Guard for six years) prior to earning a Bachelor’s degree in Economics at the University of Pittsburgh night school.

After a decade working for the First Boston Corporation, Thomas would spend the next 24 years with Mellon Financial Corporation. Thomas, a vice president in the Trust Department, was respected by colleagues and adored by his staff.

Thomas was a longtime member of the Securities Traders Association of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Bond Club.

In retirement, Thomas gave back to his community as a member of the Peters Township Planning Commission.

Thomas’s pride and joy was his family. Married to his high school sweetheart, Carole Mandus Burrows since 1959, Thomas was a doting patriarch to three children, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to Carole, surviving are daughter, Pamela Pravetz (Chris); sons, Greg Burrows and Scott Burrows (Erin); granddaughters, Cheryl Godcharles (Brian), Kristen Cook (Charles), Katherine Burrows, Ava Burrows, Emma Burrows, and Allison Burrows; and grandsons, Thomas Pravetz, Ryan Burrows, and Parker Burrows. Also surviving is brother, Robert Cope. Additionally, Thomas enjoyed a close relationship with brother-in-law, Daniel Mandus and sister-in-law, Mary Mandus; as well as his life-long friend, Charles LaBelle.
