George Edward Gilmore Jr.
George Edward Gilmore Jr., 91, of Washington, died Thursday, November 17, 2022, in the Donnell House.
He was born August 3, 1931, in Lone Pine, the son of George Edward and Romaine Sylvia Kelly Gilmore.
George attended Trinity High School and worked as a bartender at The Normaine Hotel for many years.
His pastimes included drawing, coin collecting, and going to dog and horse races. He also loved to watch Western movies on television.
George was dedicated to the care of his former mother-in-law, Olga Curci.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Michelle and her husband, Anthony Cappetta; and a sister, Dolores Durbin.
George was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Reed Gilmore.
Family and friends will be received from 12 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, followed by a blessing and committal service at 3 p.m., with Father Tom Lewandowsky officiating.
Inurnment in the Washington Cemetery Mausoleum will be private and at a later date.
