Susan Darlene Cole
Susan Darlene Cole, 77, of Washington, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022.
She was born on July 29, 1945, in Washington, a daughter of the late Robert W. Morris and Myrtle E. Morris.
On April 11, 1964, she married Stanley P. Cole, Jr., who died on December 8, 2002.
Susan retired from the Washington Hospital in August 2010, after working as a secretary in the Respiratory Care department since 1982.
She was a 1963 graduate of Washington High School and lived in Washington for most of her life, but spent the last 10 years in Port Charlotte, Fla., with her companion, William Miller.
Susan enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, traveling and watching cooking videos. She was an avid animal lover and shared her enjoyment of Florida Scrub Jays feeding from her hand.
She was an Amateur Radio Operator with the callsign N3AOK.
Surviving are two sons, Stanley P. Cole, III. (Amy) of Harvest, Ala., and Jared M. Cole (Valerie) of Washington; three grandchildren: Michael L. Cole, Matthew A. Cole and Kaitlyn S. Cole; four step-grandchildren: Brandon J. Poland, Kalvin K. Klein, Michael R. Klein and Mandy L. Kania; two great-grandchildren, Emma B. Cole and Peyton M. Cole; a sister, Kathryn (John) Decker of Fort Worth, Texas; step-great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Kayden, Christian, Kira, Kaylin, Taylor, Fulton, Timothy and Lucas; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2022, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, the place of service at 12 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022.
Interment to follow in North Buffalo Cemetery.
