Michael Kozloff, 83, of Bentleyville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 13, 2022, surrounded by his family.

He was born August 16, 1939, in Marianna, a son of the late Michael Kozloff and Antoinette Tona Shimrock Kozloff.

Mike was a 1957 graduate of Bethlehem Center High School. He earned an undergraduate degree in Geography and Civics from California State Teacher’s College in 1961 and a Master’s degree in Education from West Virginia University. Mike attended college on a football scholarship and was a proud member of the 1958 undefeated team as a starting defensive end.

Mike was a dedicated teacher for 36 years at Bentworth Senior High School and a football coach in his early years of teaching. In addition to his teaching duties, he also instilled his love of sports and travel in his students by starting a ski club and co-leading many educational trips abroad. He also enjoyed working for many years at The Meadows Racetrack as a teller.

He was a loving husband, dedicated and ever-present father, and Jeda, as his grandchildren affectionally called him. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He loved the outdoors, gardening, fishing, golf, and traveling with his family.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Leona Orsatti Kozloff; and two daughters, Connie Kozloff Cesario and husband Michael of Presto, and Carolyn Kozloff Farrell and husband Jonathan of Mt. Lebanon; sister, Shirley McMahon and husband Dennis of Canfield, Ohio; and brother, John Kozloff of Kansas; four grandchildren, Cara, Mia, Lily, and Leo; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no public visitation.

Friends are asked to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, in St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Bentleyville campus, 126 Church Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314, with the Reverend Donald Chortos officiating.
