Gerald Gene Seik

Gerald Gene Seik, 85, of Hookstown, Hanover Township, died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by the love of family, Friday evening, October 28, 2022, in the Weirton Medical Center. Born August 14, 1937 in Oakdale, he was a son of the late Howard E. and Freda Ferrell Seik.
A graduate of the West Allegheny School District, he was on the wrestling team and competed in States.
An avid outdoorsman, he belonged to the Raccoon Township Sportsman’s Club. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time on his farm tending to the land and his cows.
Gerald retired after 32 years of service at Weirton Steel, working as an iron worker and rigger. He was the owner and operator of Seik Holdings LLC. He also enjoyed race cars, motor cross, bowling and belonged to several softball teams. He especially enjoyed playing euchre with his family.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 66 years, Joan Marie Esno Seik; his children, Gerald (JJ) Seik Jr. and fiancee Cheryl Fisher, Sharon and husband Randy Elias, and the late Debra Lee Seik. He was a brother of the late James and Richard Seik; grandfather of Josh (Brittany) Bable, Monique (Shawn) Yanek, Aleah Georgilas and fiance Kyle, Cheyenne (Jenna) Caporosso, Austin Seik, Trenton Seik, and the late Petros Georgilas.
Papu of Kolton, Marley, Ameya, Braelyn, Kendall, Remi and Tommy Lee. Also, a stepgranddaughter. Savanna. He was loved by many nieces and nephews; and a daughter-in-law, Tracey Seik.
Family and friends are welcome to call from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, in the McConnell Funeral Home, 447 Pine Street, Hookstown, PA 15050, where his service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 3. He will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
