Dolores K. Norvell

Dolores K. “Doe” Norvell, 93, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 1, 2022, in Premier Washington Health Center.

She was born July 24, 1929, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Lee and Ellen Rossell Kidder.

“Doe” was a 1947 graduate of Trinity High School and attended Duffs Iron City College (presently Duffs Business School) for two years.

Dolores was a member of Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church, where she was secretary for 45 years. She also was an ordained Elder and Deacon, belonged to the historical committee and was a member of the Ruth Circle of Presbyterian Women.

In addition to being the church secretary, Dolores had worked for the FBI in Pittsburgh for several years and as a bookkeeper for her father and brother’s business, Kidder Electric.

She had volunteered and served on the board for ARC and belonged to the National Duncan Glass Society and the former North Strabane Grange.

On October 17, 1952, she married John W. Norvell, who died March 11, 2011.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandy and Kandi Norvell, both of Canonsburg; two sons, Randy Norvell (Terry) of Albuquerque, N.M. and Keith Norvell of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her twin brothers, Donald and N. Lee Kidder.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation. A memorial service may be planned for a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner / Supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Chartiers Hill U.P. Church, 2230 Washington Rd., Canonsburg, PA 15317.
