Denise Lynn Monica

After a hard-fought and courageous battle, Denise Lynn Monica, of Vestaburg, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
She was born April 8, 1959, to the late Joseph “Sacki” and Catherine Sawicky.
Denise was a 1977 graduate of Beth-Center High School.
She was born and raised in Marianna, where she lived the majority of her life before moving to Vestaburg in later adulthood.
Denise loved being in the kitchen cooking and baking. She was the best at it and the go-to person for all of our cooking questions. She enjoyed spending time talking, playing games, or just simply being with her family and friends. With her infectious smile and warm heart, she made friends everywhere she went. She was an amazing confidant who was always willing to offer a listening ear, shoulder to cry on and a joke to lift your spirits. She touched many lives in her time here and her memory will live on through all of us.
Surviving are a son, Frank Monica Jr. (Sabra) of Canonsburg; a daughter, Tiffany Bell (Jeremiah) of Eighty Four; their father, Frank “Bucky” Monica Sr. of Marianna; her loving partner of almost 20 years, John “KD” Kadonick of Vestaburg; stepdaughter, Krystle Kadonick (Jamie); and grandson, Brayden Adams all of Canonsburg; siblings, Lori Puskas of Marianna, and Joseph Sawicky of Washington; aunt, Arlene Sawicky of Marianna; along with several nieces and nephews.
Denise was a strong advocate for medical science and research. To honor her memory and to help find a cure for the terrible disease that caused us to lose her too soon, we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) Foundation at Ipffoundation.org.
Friends will be received for a memorial gathering from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, September 26, in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville.
