Alan Harps
Alan “Howie” Harps, 72, of Washington, died Saturday, April 1, 2023, in UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born September 20, 1950, in Washington, a son of the late Paul and Shirley Frye Harps.
A 1968 graduate of Trinity High School, Alan worked for Alex E. Paris Contracting Company, and was a bartender.
Mr. Harps was an Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era.
He was an avid sports fan, especially the Steelers, and enjoyed watching Jeopardy on TV.
Alan was a member of Avery Methodist Church.
He is survived by a son, Randy Harps; sisters, Barbara (Alan) DePaoli, Janice Neff, Vicky Harps, Bylle Davidson, and Kimberly (William) Pareso; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, followed by a service at 3 p.m.
