Scott Lee Kaposy, 44, passed away peacefully in his Naples, Fla. home on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 after a long health battle.

On May 13, 2009, Scott married the love of his life, Misty Rae Welch, who survives.

Scott was born in Wheeling, WV April 1, 1978, a son of the late Richard A. Kaposy, Sr. who preceded his son in death; and Barbara J. Dennis, of Washington, who survives.

Also surviving are brother Richard A. Kaposy, Jr. (Karen) of Washington; and sister, Tammy (Joseph) Stanish of Charlotte, N.C., with their children Hannah Grace, Janelle (Rob Welch), Caleb, Stephen, Joseph, Sarah, Rachel, Daniel, Naomi and Jesse; two great-nieces, Amelia & Winslow Slujiter; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Scott was also preceded in death by his nephew, Joshua Stanish; his grandparents, several aunts & uncles. Scott leaves behind his faithful pups Gertrude & Rooster. “Posy” was especially close with Misty’s cousins Joshua Anthony of Harrison City; Deputy Barry Hewitt, Jr. and Macie Hewitt both of Tampa, Fla.

Scott was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed Texas Hold’em, muscle cars, the beach, music & politics.

Scott was cremated and will be interred in the Gulf of Mexico at a later time.
