Hilda Grace Tarr Glass
Hilda Grace Tarr Glass, 96, of Washington, formerly of McDonald, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023 in Woodside Place of Washington.
She was born December 7, 1926 in Hanover Township, a daughter of the late William Archer Tarr and Josephine Savage Tarr.
She graduated from Union High School in Burgettstown, attended Slippery Rock State Teachers College, and graduated from Duffs-Iron City College.
On July 3, 1952, she married Wallace J. Glass, who passed away on June 9, 2002.
Hilda was a member of McDonald Presbyterian Church and a faithful supporter of the ministry Cru. She worked as a bookkeeper for Nick Garin Trucking and also served as an election day poll worker.
Hilda never missed a birthday, anniversary, or holiday and was always prepared with a card for the occasion. In her final years, she enjoyed regular visits from all seven of her great-grandchildren and the company of her cat.
She is survived by a son, Arthur L. (Donna) Glass of Bridgeville; a daughter, Kathryn L. (Robert) McCarrell of Washington; seven grandchildren, Emily (Nate) Holmes, Heidi (Dan) Gottron, Katie (Zack) Conway, Rob McCarrell (Stephanie Good), Laurel Glass, Jillian Glass, and Christopher Glass; seven great-grandchildren, Allie and Fletcher Holmes, Guy, Joanna, and Samantha Gottron, Everett and Preston Conway; as well as several nephews.
Friends and family will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2023,at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 314 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald 724-926-2800. A service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Robinson Church Cemetery.
