Marilyn A. Johnston Greenway
Marilyn A. Johnston Greenway, 84, of McMurray, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, with her daughter by her side. She was born March 22, 1939, to the late Rev. Lew and Althea Simmons Johnston in Waynesburg.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Ronald Greenway, whom she married June 13, 1964, in the Methodist Church in Duquesne.
She was the loving mother of Kim (Thom) White; and proud grandmother of TJ White and Erin White.
Marilyn was a graduate of Donora High School. She received her Bachelor’s of History in 1951 at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, W.Va. She went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Education at Ohio University. She was an American History and World Studies Teacher at Peters Township High School for over 29 years until her retirement in 1997.
Marilyn always loved a good bargain, going to flea markets and auctions. She collected dolls and had over 800. Marilyn also was a church organist and pianist for many local churches.
Marilyn will be remembered for her caring nature, passion of education, and most of all love of family.
