Helen Freeman
With profound love, deepest respect and admiration, the family of Helen Freeman acknowledges her passing Monday, August 21, 2023. Her loving family was by her side.
She was born January 11, 1929, in Richeyville, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Helen Harris.
She married her loving husband, Robert Freeman January 14, 1947. They were married for 39 years until his passing January 14, 1986.
She lived her life simply as a shining example of kindness, strength and generosity. Her legacy of life well-lived will forever be a part of her daughter, Helen (Allen) Proper; sons, Robert (Barbara) Freeman and Mark (Bobbie) Freeman; four grandchildren, Daniel (Amy) Freeman, Lynn (Brian) Painter, Chase Freeman, Savannah (Ben) Powell; four great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Kaylie, Justin, and soon-to-be Hazel.
In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, Van and Jim Harris; and a sister, Vivian Majesky.
She was a member of Scenery Hill United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 24, in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 25. Internment will follow at Scenery Hill Cemetery, Scenery Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made, in her honor, to the Washington Area Humane Society, P.O. Box 66, Eighty-Four, PA 15330.
