Jacqueline F. “Jackie” Eakin, 88, of Avella, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023, in her home, surrounded by family, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.

She was born June 26, 1935, a daughter of the late Alden and Vera Davis Culley.

Jackie was a 1953 graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching football, crafting and baking. Jackie loved travelling, shopping and cooking for loved ones, and especially loved mowing her acres of grass.

On October 29, 1955, she married Donald Gene Eakin, who passed away September 6, 2009.

Jackie is survived by her children, Paula Hansson, Rick (Kim) Eakin, Mary Lou Padgett and Gary Eakin; grandchildren, Shaun Eakin, Tiffany (Todd) Biagini, Dana Eakin, Rick (Maria) Eakin, Adam Padgett, Kristen (Jacob) Coen, Gary Eakin and Karsten Hansson; her great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Jerry Star; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband of 53 years, is a son, Donnie Eakin.

At Jackie’s request, there will be no visitations.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
