Franklin Delano Ridenour Orwig II
Franklin D. Ridenour Orwig II, 58, of Cocoa, Fla., died unexpectedly Friday, August 11, 2023. He was born July 12, 1965, in Pittsburgh, a son of Lynette M. (Ayres) Foster of Carmichaels, and the late Franklin D. Orwig, Sr.
Frank attended Carmichaels Area High School. He owned and operated Frank’s Towing in Cocoa.
Frank’s second “job” was as the singer, songwriter and drummer of his band, Radio Flyerz.
He also enjoyed playing pool, fishing, riding his motorcycles, building and collecting scale model tanks, and was a history buff. Frank was an avid Steelers fan and a man of many “freaking” hats!
Surviving are three sons, James A. “JR” Ridenour (Erica) of Crucible, Damien C. Ridenour and Franklin D. Orwig III, both of Florida; two daughters, Jamie Beth Orwig and Jazmine L. Lang, both of Florida; seven grandchildren, Bella, Troy, Trinity, Nicholas, Nathan, Elias and Sarah; four sisters, Cindy Nakutis (Denny) of Graysville, Kimberley Jethro (Linwood) of North Carolina, Rachel Sekeres (Lloyd) of Connellsville, Dana Orwig of Ohio; and one brother, Daniel Ridenour (Missy) of Conneaut. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a daughter, Bethanie N. Orwig, who died May 10, 2010.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of a service, Sunday, August 27, in Yoskovich Funeral Home (724-966-5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, with the Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating the service.
