Susan Cooper Plaumann
Susan Nanette Cooper Montgomery Daley Plaumann, 82, a resident of Dickinson, Texas, passed away peacefully from this life Thursday, August 17, 2023. She was born September 22, 1940, the fourth child to proud and loving parents, William Lynn and Ethel Nanette Morrow Cooper, in Washington.
Sue graduated from Claysville High School in Claysville, in 1958. She married her first husband, Milam Montgomery, in 1962. They moved to Galveston County, Texas, where she attended and graduated from the University of Houston as an English major.
Sue went on to work in the Aerospace industry and worked for NASA, McDonnell Douglass, Raytheon, and other companies for 30 years as a senior technical editor before retiring.
She enjoyed reading, making quilts, cooking and Elderhostal programs.
Sue married Robert Plaumann in 1996 and they resided in Shoreacres, Texas in their retirement. After Robert’s unexpected passing in 2001, Sue remained in their home until 2018, when she moved to La Vita Bella Assisted Living Facility, where she resided until her passing.
Sue leaves behind to cherish a lifetime of memories her three sons, David Milam Montgomery and wife Karen, Steven Wayne Montgomerty, Michael Clyde Montgomery and wife Karen; sisters, Norma Kathleen Skooglund, Virginia Lynne Kalakewich, and Judith Irene Wilson; grandchildren, Tyler Jacob Montgomery and wife Alayna, and Chandler Matthew Montgomery and wife Alyssa; as well as nieces, nephews, and numerous friends and colleagues.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Plaumann; brother, William Norman Cooper; and a grandson, Kegan Michael Montgomery.
Special thanks and appreciation to Trudy, Tina and the entire staff of the La Vita Bella Assisted Living Facility in Dickinson for their kind and caring hearts that gave her so much love during her most difficult days.
In Sue’s honor, a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 26, in the Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, Dickinson, Texas.
