Kevin Edward Coit
Kevin Edward Coit, 65, of Bentleyville, died peacefully Sunday, January 29, 2023, due to pulmonary fibrosis, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Kevin was an organ donor and as his final gift, donated tissue and organs to Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE).
He was born November 27, 1957, in Washington, the youngest of six children born to the late Burt and Hazel Coit.
He attended Washington schools, graduated from Kiski Prep School, and was a 1980 graduate of Edinboro University.
Kevin loved the Steelers and attended four Super Bowls to watch the Steelers win them all.
He overcame years of addiction and started his own remodeling company, in part, due to the help he received from the Washington City Mission. His motto was, “God first, Others second, Myself third.” Kevin had the gift of gab and loved meeting new people.
He enjoyed the game of golf and played when he had the chance.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Vickie Dague Coit; and five siblings, Nancy (Gunter) Weller of Dunnville, Ontario Canada, Caroline Coit of Cologne, Germany, Susan (Bernard) Wendler of Washington, Barbara Coit of Santa Fe, N.M., Burt Coit of Naperville, Ill.; his brother-in-law, James Dague (Julia) of Ohio; along with several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Phyllis Dague of Bentleyville; and his fur baby, Toby.
In addition to his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by his stepson, Justin Dague.
The family would like to thank the UPMC MICU for the care and compassion they provided to Kevin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Washington City Mission, 84 W. Wheeling Street, Washington, PA 15301.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 2, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 3, with Pastor Doug Bush officiating.
