Mark D. Richards, 66, of Hickory, passed Saturday, January 28, 2023.

He was born August 9, 1956 in Canonsburg, a son of the late Edward P. and Grace Wade Richards.

Mark was a graduate of Fort Cherry High School Class of 1974.

Mark had a passion for golf. He was the former superintendent of Cherry Hills, Falling Timber, and Quicksilver golf clubs. Not only was he an avid golfer but he developed Quicksilver Golf Course to the specks that the PGA wanted in order to host the Senior PGA Tour at Quicksilver.

Mark also was an artist. He would draw many outdoor scenes such as barns, arrowheads, and really anything nature related.

He loved spending time with his children. When his children were younger, Mark often took his children exploring in the outdoors and teaching them how to appreciate Mother Nature.

Surviving are two children, Mark E. Richards of Bulger, and Mara Richards of Midway; a brother, Timothy Richards of Hickory; a sister, Sandra Bongiorni of Burgettstown; four grandchildren, Keira and Colton Singer, and Ember and Meadow Richards.

Deceased is a brother, Buzz Richards.

A memorial gathering will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, February 4, in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, PA 15057.
