Betty R. Phillips

Betty R. Phillips, 80, of Carmichaels, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2023, after a year long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Thursday, August 13, 1942 in Brave, a daughter of the late Ray Morris and Blanche Strosnider Morris Westwood.

Betty attended First Baptist Church in Carmichaels. In the past, she was an active member of the women’s auxiliary of the American Legion and VFW of Waynesburg. For years she was a CNA and was a caregiver to others. Betty also assisted running a child daycare with her mother Blanche, and was a homemaker as well.

Surviving is her daughter: Kimberly L. (John) Woods of Carmichaels; one son, Kenneth R. Phillips II of Waynesburg; four grandchildren, Nathan Phillips, Chelsee Miller, Cody Austin Phillips and Kelly Woods, one great-granddaughter, Abby Phillips; and several nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family. Deceased in addition to her parents are four brothers.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the time of service on Monday, February 6, in the Milliken and Throckmorton FH,Inc. Daryl L. Throckmorton, Director, 197 N. Maiden St Waynesburg, PA 15370 with Pastor Gary Cobert officiating. Burial will be in Phillips Cemetery, Spraggs, PA. Information is online at www.milliken-throckmortonfh.com.
