Bernice D. Jungo
Bernice D. Jungo, 91, of Washington, died Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in her home.
She was born March 13, 1931, in Washington, a daughter of the late Orville E. and Ellen Schneck Dean.
Bernice was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of St. James Parish.
She was a 1949 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School.
Bernice worked at Lang’s department store but spent the majority of her life as a full time wife and mother.
In her free time, Bernice loved playing BINGO but her greatest passion was spending time with her family.
On February 27, 1954, in Washington, she married the love of her life, Henry T. Jungo, Jr., who passed away July 27, 1990.
Surviving are four sons, Dean T. (Susan) Jungo, Henry T. “Tom” Jungo III, Clark T. (Valerie) Jungo, and Daniel T. (Donetta) Jungo, all of Washington; a sister, Patricia Frey of Indianapolis, Ind.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Leonard and Richard Dean.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Ave., Washington. A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 8, in Immaculate Conception Church of St. James Parish, 119 West Chestnut Street, Washington, with Reverend George Chortos officiating. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. James Parish at the address above.
