Gary Rankin Munger
Gary Rankin Munger, 85, of Cecil Township, died Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in his home.
He was born June 17, 1937, in Los Angeles, Calif., a son of the late Ernest and Nellie Rankin Munger.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Pfc. spending time in Korea after the war. Gary was self employed.
On May 29, 1959, Gary married Linda Sharkey Munger in Fawcett United Methodist Church, Bridgeville.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He and Dave spent many days fishing for Walleye on Lake Erie. He passed his love of hunting and fishing on to his sons. He and his sons also worked together for many years.
Gary is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Kirk (Theresa) Munger, and Clark (Margaret) Munger, both of Cecil Township; daughter, Linell (Anthony) Mankey of Chartiers Township; grandchildren, Laura, Dustin, Matthew, Hannah, Casey, Caitlyn, Carolyn and Jacob; four great-grandchildren, Mark, Danielle, Olivia and Caden; and a sister, Erna Treusch of Cecil Township.
The funeral service and burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Everyone attending should meet at the cemetery located at 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, Cecil Township.
