Douglas L. Riffle
Douglas “Doug” L. Riffle, 55, of Wheeling, W.Va., formerly of Aleppo, passed away unexpectedly, in his home, Sunday, February 5, 2023.
He was born November 27, 1967, a son to Donald Riffle of New Freeport, and the late Linda Lou Kerns Riffle.
Doug was a 1985 graduate of West Greene High School. He worked as a laborer in Pipeline Construction for 30 years, before retiring from Welded Construction in 2018. Post-retirement Doug worked at Lowes in Wheeling.
He enjoyed deer hunting, reading books, and loved watching World War II documentaries, the Steelers and NASCAR.
In addition to his father, Doug is survived by siblings, Craig Donald (Kim) Riffle of Moundsville, W.Va., Melissa D. (Scott) Woods of Shepherd, Mich., Curtis P. (Aly) Riffle of Hudson, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Doug was preceded in death by his stepmother, Bonnie Riffle, in 2021.
Friends and family will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 10, in Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC., 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Rogersville, PA 15359 (telephone 724-499-5181), where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 11, with Pastor Lanny Hewitt officiating. Burial will take place at Centennial Cemetery, Aleppo, following the funeral.
