Ryne Francis Elzer, 37, died suddenly in a car accident Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Ryne was the loving husband of Corey Lyn Elzer and amazing father to his two sons, Owen (4) and Sawyer (2).

Ryne was born March 17, 1985, to amazing parents, John and Beth Elzer in Washington.

He is survived by his older brother, Shane (Shelle) and beloved nieces, Reese, Kenlee and Brady; sister, Gretchen Olds (Shane) and nephews, Joshua and Nathan.

Ryne had an amazing personality and infectious smile. He had friends across the decades of his short life and he influenced everyone with his kindness and grace. Ryne made a name for himself in the vocation of friendship. He taught us all that life’s adventures are best lived in the company of those we love.

Ryne was indeed the perfect father, husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. His void is felt distinctly by all who knew of his gentle nature and calming demeanor. All this being said, he knew how to have a good time, whether it be music, sports or travel. Ryne had a huge heart and loved unconditionally. His greatest accomplishment is his two boys. He set a high bar in the field of fatherhood.

His wife, Corey, was indeed the love of his life, having just completed their new home in Denver, N.C. Ryne loved without exception and found his soul mate in Corey Lyn when they met in 2014. They were wed in 2017.

A graduate of Trinity High School, Ryne completed his education in environmental science at SNHU and spent his career in residential and commercial landscaping. At the time of his death, he was employed at DMG as a district manager.

Ryne was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Walter and Frances Crawford.

Surviving, in addition to his family listed above, are his two wonderful aunts, Tacy Ross (Ron) and cousins, Jarrod and Aaron; and Kay Allwardt (Craig) and cousins, Cierra Sheilds and Cheyenne Mills.

There will be a Celebration of Life from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 17, in The Union Grill, 13 East Wheeling Street, Washington. People wishing to pay their respects are encouraged to stop by for a brief visit with the family.

On Saturday, March 18, at 6 p.m., family and friends will gather in the Hofbrau, 416 Highland Avenue, Canonsburg.

Memorial donations should be made to Corey Lyn Elzer, 1895 Lotus Lane, Denver, NC 28037, to defray funeral expenses and build an educational fund for Owen and Sawyer.
