John Polochak
John “Pooch” Polochak, 70, of Houston, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023.
He was born October 2, 1952, in Canonsburg, the only child of the late John and Ethel Ford Polochak.
According to his son, Jake, “Very few enjoyed life as much as Pooch did.”
John was a member of the Polish National Union, the Palanka Club and the Houston Independent Club.
He was very proud to be one of the founding fathers of the Canon-McMillan Ice Hockey Program in 1992.
Surviving are his daughter, Jessica Herr of Washington; and his son, Jake (Kristin) Polochak of Upper St. Clair; five grandchildren, Jake Polochak, Ava Polochak, Jemma Polochak, Marco Polochak and Kasen Herr.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 9, in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 194 East College Street, Canonsburg, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 10, with Pastor Steve Parkhill officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
