Alice Lee McIlvaine
Alice Lee McIlvaine, 82, of Waynesburg, formerly of Washington, passed away unexpectedly, in her home, peacefully in her sleep, Wednesday, February 8, 2023. She was born December 25, 1940, in Washington, a daughter of the late Phillip and Dorothy Ross Moses.
Mrs. McIlvaine was a 1958 graduate of Washington High School and earned an Associate’s degree in Legal Stenography from Penn Commercial.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in both Waynesburg and Washington, and was an organist at both churches.
Mrs. McIlvaine worked as a legal stenographer for several lawyers and judges in Washington County for many years until the time of her retirement.
She was a member of the Sweet Adelines. Mrs. McIlvaine enjoyed baking, was a talented seamstress and artist and was known for her beautiful paintings. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
On May 25, 1982, in the Washington, D.C. L.D.S. Temple, she married John W. McIlvaine, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Cindi Bergmann; three stepdaughters, Whitney McIlvaine, Gretta McIlvaine and Dr. Heather (Shane) Filer; four stepsons, John W. (Kerrin) McIlvaine III, Charles C. McIlvaine, Andrew M. (Jill) McIlvaine and Mark K. (Carrie) McIlvaine; a brother, Phillip Moses; 15 grandchildren, Erin, Clifton, Calvin, Carina, Allie, John C., Nathaniel, Quentin, Brookie, Andrew, Margaret, Charles W., Ellen, Aiden and Evan; three great-grandchildren, Jacen, Linzie and Kayti.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McIlvaine was preceded in death by a grandson, Alexander.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 13, in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, owner / supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, director, Holly Renay Warco, director, Park N. Crosier, director. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of a funeral service, Tuesday, February 14, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 525 Fairway Street, Washington, PA 15301. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
