Michael J. Ruchka
Michael J. Ruchka, 40, of Finleyville, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023, in Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born June 22, 1982, in McKees Rocks, a son of Greg and Cynthia Steyer Ruchka of Castle Shannon.
Mike was employed with the PA Department of Corrections as an officer at SCI Greene.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 490 in Castle Shannon, board member of the Thomas Youth Baseball League and was PSCOA secretary for SCI Pittsburgh and Greene.
His greatest joys in life were his children, coaching his son in baseball, being on the sidelines as a “Cheer Dad”, and countless sessions of singing Baby Shark with his girls.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Christina Curdie Ruchka; his children, Lincoln, Quinn and Scarlett; brother, Dan (Kathleen) Ruchka of Fredericksburg, Va.; two nephews, Elliot and Liam; two nieces, Lila and Darby; in-laws, Craig and Cherie Curdie of Finleyville; a sister-in-law, Cherise (Brent) Sandrock of Jefferson Hills; and brother-in-law, Craig Curdie II of Lancaster.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, in Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., David P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. where visitation will continue from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, the time of a memorial service, Wednesday, February 15.
