Norman B. Detrick Jr.
Norman B. “Stormin Norman” Detrick Jr., 53, of Bentleyville, passed away, unexpectedly, Tuesday, February 7, 2023, with his beloved German Shephard, “Keizer” by his side.
He was born August 26, 1969, in Washington, a son of Norman Detrick Sr. of Washington, and Betty Jane Hustava Detrick of California, who survive.
Norman was a 1988 graduate of Beth Center High School.
He was employed at Blue Beacon Truck Wash #071 Bentleyville for many years holding various positions, and where he built many lifelong friendships. He was most recently employed at Giant Eagle in Bentleyville.
He loved all Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Steelers, working out at the YMCA, movies, ’80s music, singing Karaoke and watching his grandson, Elijah play sports. He always enjoyed spending time with friends. No one was a stranger to Norman. He loved meeting new people and would talk to anyone as if they were an old friend.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are three children, Haverly Detrick (Autumn) of New Salem, Emily McCoy (Eric) and Zachary Detrick, both of Bentleyville; a grandson, Elijah McCoy; a brother, Greg Detrick of California; a sister, Lisa Kokila (Dave) of Belle Vernon; a niece, Kayla Kokila; former wife and mother of his children, Emma Detrick; many friends and his work family.
Deceased is a grandson, Zayne Telegraphis.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 13, in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main Street, P.O. Box 11, Beallsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 14. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the funeral home.
