Marilyn Joan Cogar
Marilyn Joan Cogar, 89, of Waynesburg, died at 12:39 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2023, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born Friday, November 10, 1933, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Harold B. Clayton and Helen Stewart Clayton.
Mrs. Cogar was a graduate of Waynesburg High School, class of 1951.
She really loved the Lord and her music, which she enjoyed writing. In her later years, she enjoyed having her own ministry which she shared with her husband Donald. Her husband, Donald Cogar, Sr., whom she married on December 24, 1952, died in October of 2009.
Surviving are: one daughter, Kathryn Shields of Waynesburg; four sons, Kelly (Jeanette) Cogar of Georgia, Don Cogar, Jr. of Georgia, Steve Cogar of Waynesburg, and Kim (Cathy) Cogar of Georgia; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased are one daughter, Dianne; a grandson, James Burton; and two brothers.
Visitation and services are to be private and held at the convenience of the family.
