John Himmer, of Arden Mills, Washington, passed away peacefully, in his home, Saturday, February 11, 2023.

After graduation he attended Duff Business School and Ford Company Merchandising School in Dearborn, Mich.

John worked in the trucking business for over 45 years and ended up owning John Himmer Transfer in Neville Island.

He was a 50-year member of North Hills Masonic Lodge and past member of Pa Motor Truck Association and Traffic & Transportation Association.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spent many weekends at the “Mountain Box” in Bedford County. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and Forest Grove Sportsman Club. He helped with the renovation of the Patterson House to be its first church home and school.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; his late sister, Mary Jane; daughter, Sharon (Rich); son, Greg; his grandchildren, John, Zachary, Kelly (Dean) and Adam (Leah); and his great-grandchildren, Josh, Kaitlyn, Mason and Cooper.

Even though a failing heart took him away, his loving heart left beautiful, happy memories behind.

A family viewing and interment will be private.
