Roy Ernest McKnight
Roy Ernest McKnight, 90, of Washington, died Sunday, February 12, 2023, in his home.
He was born December 1, 1932, a son of the late James H. and Thelma Pestel McKnight.
A graduate of Washington High School, he was Protestant by faith.
Roy was a veteran of the United States Army, having served as an officer in the Army and the Pennsylvania National Guard for 28 years.
Mr. McKnight worked as a manager at Verizon for 43 years.
A fitness fanatic, he exercised every day. Roy enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee every morning. He also enjoyed collecting Duncan Miller Glass.
On October 21, 1955, he married Patricia J. Rinehart, who died November 5, 2014.
Surviving are two sons, Dennis McKnight and Scott McKnight; four grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Sarah and Connor McKnight; two great-grandchildren, Ava and Andie McKnight; his companion, Charlotte Valentine; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Mark McKnight; two brothers, James Albert McKnight and Donald McKnight; and a sister, Darlene Cannon.
At the request of the deceased, all services were private.
