Patricia Ellen Collier, 90, of McMurray, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, in Country Meadows Retirement Community, after an extended illness.

She was born in Killbuck, Ohio to the late Rufus and Bernice Rice Tyler.

Pat is survived by her husband of 60 years, Myron Collier; her daughter, Laura (Barry) Suchock; stepdaughters, Betsy Jane (Mark) Lutz and Rebecca Ann (Thomas) Young; granddaughter, Julie Rollins; grandson, Christopher (Cindy) Collier; and sister, Leah (Edwin) Cook. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by a brother, Leland.

Patricia graduated from Killbuck High School and travelled to New York City to attend Grace Downs Airline Flight Attendant School. After leaving New York, Patricia settled in Mansfield, Ohio, where she worked for many years before moving to McMurray with her husband, Myron.

She loved to travel and had visited many foreign countries including England, Egypt and Greece. More recently, Patricia had visited Australia and New Zealand, where she experienced the thrill of bungee jumping, not to mention a “parachute jump” in Las Vegas.

Patricia had a pilot’s license and was a member of the “All Ohio 99s”, which is an organization of all female pilots. Her proud membership was reflected by her license plate, “PAT99”. Pat and a lady friend flew in the annual Powder Puff Derby, an all-female coast-to-coast flying event, which she always looked forward to and enjoyed very much. This event was always the highlight of her year.

She had an outgoing personality and easily made friendships with others. Her interests included being an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan and theatre fan, especially musicals. Pat was an active member of the Woman’s Club of Upper St. Clair, and a faithful volunteer at Wesley Institute. She was also an avid reader who subscribed to newspapers, magazines and periodicals so she could truly know what was going on out there.

Pat was an excellent cook who had hundreds of cookbooks on her shelves at home. She took great pride in her home and her unique and personal touch was not only obvious, but outstanding.

In her retirement years, Pat and her beloved husband, Myron, often spent time on a Dude Ranch in Tucson, Ariz. and also attended various aviation events.
