Cynthia S. Selders
Cynthia S. Selders, 67, of Bentleyville, formerly of Avella, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023, in UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh.
She was born on December 17, 1955, in Youngstown, Ohio, daughter of the late Alfred Dean and Patricia Foos Phillips.
Cindy attended Avella High School and moved to Florida in 1994.
While in Florida, Cindy worked at Avante of Leesburg, as a medical receptionist, for over 15 years and other various medical centers in the area.
In Florida, she made friends whom she considered family; she enjoyed going to the beach and traveling to Daytona for NASCAR.
Family was very important to Cindy; she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and watch their sporting events. She was an avid Ohio State and Pittsburgh Steelers fan and she collected anything and everything with a lighthouse on it!
Cindy moved back to the area in 2018 to be closer to family.
Surviving are: a son, Justin (Jennifer) Rush of Avella; seven grandchildren, Ronald L. Rush Jr. (Sophie), Jackie (Wyatt), Victoria, Dominic, Lily and Teagan Rush and Logan Lenhart; one great-grandson; two sisters, Sheryl Tokay of Venetia, and Cathryn (Jay) Bertovich of Avella; two brothers, Alan (Mary Kay) Phillips and Dennis Phillips (Vivian) both of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, is a son, Ronald Lee Rush.
Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories and celebrate Cindy’s life from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312.
