Estella M. Breese Martin

Estella M. Breese Martin, 88, of Washington, passed away February 18, 2023 in Washington Hospital.

Born March 13, 1934 in Buffalo Township a daughter to the late Howard Oliver and Alice Mounts Breese.

Estella was a resident of Washington County her whole life. She was a lifetime member of the Rolling Hills Chapel Church in Claysville. Estella enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, watching westerns, Jeopardy and The Wheel of Fortune, and camping. She loved to feed deer and birds, especially cardinals, her favorite. Estella had a lifetime of caring for others. She was a foster parent to many children over the years, loved to cook family meals, big enough for an army, and would give the shirt off her back to anyone that needed it.

Estella is survived by her six children, David (Beth) Martin, of West Alexander, Dennis Martin, of Claysville, Jewel (John) Brown, of Garland, Tex., Douglas (Sherri) Martin, of West Alexander, Jill (Darrell) Briggs, of Claysville, and Tiffany (Matt) Arnold, of Wheeling, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; one grandson, Jonathan Levi Gowern Martin, deceased; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; siblings: Esther Thomas, of Claysville, Laura (Jerry) Main, of Claysville, Dorothy “Dot” (Gary Morehead) Clark, of Lake Milton, Ohio, and Shirley (Frank) Lindley, of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and a large extended family including several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents; Estella is preceded in death by husbands David Reed Martin, Ralph “Buck” Hansen, and Robert Ray Supler; siblings, Robert Breese, Duane Breese, Patricia Osmond, and Rosemary Breese, who died in infancy; sister-in-laws, Ettie Breese and Emma Jo Breese; brother-in-laws, George “Newt” Clark, and Donzil Varner.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 22 at Rolling Hills Chapel Church, 214 Timber Lake Rd., Claysville, PA 15323. A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 23 at 11 a.m. in the church with Pastor Jill Briggs officiating. Burial will follow at West Alexander Cemetery, West Alexander, Pa. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC., 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Rogersville, PA 15359; Telephone 724 499 5181.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Rolling Hills Chapel Church at 214 Timber Lake Rd., Claysville, PA 15323.
