Frances B. Gardner
Frances B. Gardner, 77, of Washington, died Wednesday, February 22, 2023, in her home.
She was born February 23, 1945, in Washington, a daughter of the late Ed Lee and Carrie Johnson Ellis Harper.
Frances worked as a dietary aide at the Washington Hospital until her retirement in 2007. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Temple, Washington.
She enjoyed writing gospel songs and poems, spending time with her “grands,” as well as baking and crafting with her family and friends. She worked hard all her life to support her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are four sons, Maurice Gardner of Washington, Ronnie Gardner of Uniontown, and George Gardner and Marquel Matusic, both of Washington; three daughters, Tanika (Brandon) Gardner and Traia Gardner, both of Washington, and India Stuart, Sr. of Canonsburg; two brothers, Edgar “Punkin” Ellis of Washington and George (Lisa) Ellis of Ypsilanti, Mich.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, LaDawn Gardner; a brother, Melvin Ellis; and a sister, Sandra “Tubby” Johnson.
Friends will be received from 12 to 2 and 5 to 7 p.m., the hour of services, Wednesday, March 1, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Myron C. Jones II officiating. All other services will be private.
