James Reynolds Warne
James Reynolds Warne, 92, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023, after a long and wonderful life.
He was born January 3, 1931, in Oklahoma, in the midst of the Great Depression, a son of the late Thomas and Rachael Reynolds Warne.
James traveled by train, with his mother and older siblings, back to Pennsylvania, where there was a long family history in Washington County. James grew up in the area, with a boyhood full of adventures with his brothers and sisters.
He finished his education at Chartiers High School and soon enlisted in the Army, serving during the Korean War. His enthusiastic spirit led him to take on new opportunities in the service. After the war, he moved to Morgantown W.Va., and enrolled at West Virginia University, graduating in 1961 with a degree in Mathmatics and Science Education.
After teaching math at a high school in Virginia, he pursued a sales career in radioactive pharmaceuticals, using his interest in science and people, to have a long and successful career in sales, marketing and management.
He relocated back to Pennsylvania to be closer to family, living on a beautiful farm in rural South Franklin Township.
When he retired from DuPont, he worked in a variety of endeavors, traveling the world to learn new things and explore ideas, and developing a patent on nine different medical devices.
His family was most precious to him. Left to celebrate his life are his wife, Nanette Nittka Warne; his daughter, Cara and husband, Kevin Milligan and their children, Meghan and Evan; his son, Jim Warne and wife, Dawn Miles Warne and their children, Miles, Mason and Dax; his sisters, Betty Holmes, of Houston, Agnes Schweinebraten, and her husband, Bill, of Washington and Kandy Arata and her husband, Vic, of Montgomery County; a brother, David Warne, of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Thomas and William Warne; and a sister, Rachael Louise Fischer.
A special thank you to the nurses from Amedysis Hospice Care, as well as Visiting Angels. Their kind and thoughtful care brought comfort and compassion to the family.
A Memorial Service will be scheduled for a date and time to be announced.
