Marion L. Gordon
Marion L. Gordon, 83, of Avella, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023, in Ann’s Country Retreat, Wellsburg, W.Va.
She was born on August 4, 1939, at home in Avella, daughter of the Late John N. Myers Sr. and Mary Ondrick Myers.
Marion attended Avella High School and was a talented majorette.
She was a lifelong resident of Avella and a member of Saint Michael Church in Avella, (Saint Isidore the Farmer Parish).
She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed watching her son’s wrestling matches during their high school and college days. She loved to take road trips to Florida to see her sister, Patsy, canning with her husband, playing BINGO and the slot machines at the casino.
On April 14, 1957, in Winchester, Va., she married James F. “Crow” Gordon, who survives.
Also surviving are her sons, James F. (Patti) Gordon Jr., of Cecil and Jeffrey S. (Stephanie) Gordon, of Presto; four grandchildren, Christina (Mark) Smiechowski, James (Jamie) Gordon, Hannah Gordon (fiance, Patrick Courtney) and Hunter Gordon; three great-grandchildren, Brynley and Taylynn Smiechowski and Carter Hames; and sister-in-law, Darla Myers.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are three sisters, Lorraine Myers, Geraldine Checco and Patsy Jungclaus; and a brother, John “Buddy” Myers.
Funeral services and burial are private.
