Lois M. Buckingham

Lois M. Buckingham, 93, of Scenery Hill, passed away Monday, December 26, 2022, in Transitions Healthcare Washington. She was born December 8, 1929, in Duquesne, a daughter of the late Palmer and Sadie Douglas Morgan.

Mrs. Buckingham was a 1947 graduate of Duquesne High School and Robert Morris Business School.

Lois had been employed with Gulf Oil in the Vehicle Procurement Division and P & LE Railroad, then later became a homemaker.

She attended the Scenery Hill United Methodist Church and was a very active member and Past Matron of the Eastern Star #404 Martha V. Paul and Monessen #205. She was also Past Watchman of Shepherds of the Margaret E. Caven White Shrine #42.

In her leisure time Lois enjoyed shopping, visiting friends and family, and eating out.

On October 13, 1951, she married Paul E. Buckingham, who died October 7, 2008.

Surviving is a son, Paul Douglas Buckingham of Scenery Hill; two sisters, M. Jean Tomko of West Mifflin, and Alice Sylves of Lancaster; several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her husband, is a brother, Dr. Douglas P. Morgan Sr; two brothers-in-law, Edward Tomko and Robert Sylves.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4:30 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023, with Pastor Patty McDaid officiating. Interment will follow in Scenery Hill Cemetery.

White Shrine #42 service will be held at 7 p.m. and the Eastern Star #404 Martha V. Paul Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
