Lawrence Joseph Kalcevic
Lawrence “Larry” Joseph Kalcevic of Claysville, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023. He joined his late wife, Ingrid Mary Kalcevic, in heaven on her 75th birthday, to celebrate life on this earth, who preceded him in death on March 22, 2016.
He was the son of the late Michael and Mary Kalcevich.
They married on April 4, 1970, and had two children, Michael Eric Kalcevic (Connie) and Laura Nelson Kalcevic; and a granddaughter, Abby Lynn Doran. Also surviving are two brothers, Terrance (Linda) Kalcevic, and Phillip (the late Cindy) Kalcevic; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Kalcevic and Rosemary Kalcevic.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, David Kalcevic and Walter Kalcevic.
Larry came from a large Croatian and Polish family, growing up with loving parents and four brothers in Clairton. He was the President of the class of 1962, at Thomas Jefferson High School, where he gained beloved, lifelong friends.
Larry graduated from Clarion University in 1966 and the Catholic University of America in 1968. He then dedicated his life to bettering society through his career as a social worker, notably being employed by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole for 35 years.
Larry loved his land in the rural area of East Finley, where he spent his retirement years on this breathtaking estate enjoying all the best life had to offer. He will be dearly missed.
Family and friends will be received from 2 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2023, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2023, in Immaculate Conception Church, 119 W. Chestnut Street, Washington, PA 15301, with Reverend Tom Lewandowski as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
