Russell Louis Cancelmi II
Russell “Rocky” Louis Cancelmi II, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022, in Manassas Va.
Rocky was born October 18, 1950, in Washington, a son of the late Russell Louis Cancelmi and Mary Milvet Cancelmi.
On January 24, 1969, in Cumberland, Md., Rocky married his high school sweetheart, the former Carol Shawin, who survives.
Additional survivors include his son, Christopher (Dane) Hockenbrock; his daughter, Rana (Daniel) Hockman; and four grandchildren, Anna Marie and Rock Hockman, and Olivia and Nora Hockenbrock.
Rocky was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Bedine.
Rocky was a proud veteran who served in both the U.S. Navy and as a Navy reservist.
He worked for over 30 years for Parson Management Consultants as a senior field inspector on the runway additions at Washington Dulles International Airport and the Passenger Walkway. Rocky received many accolades and awards for his work.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #10, Isaak Walton League, and the National Rifle Association. As an avid hunter and outdoorsman, he took great pride in passing along that passion to his grandson, Rock.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Baker-Post Funeral Home, under the direction of Michael Post, Manassas, Va.
