June Eileen Sim
June Eileen Sim, 76, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023, in the Washington Hospital.
She was born June 26, 1946, in Ryerson Station, a daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret Welling Finnegan.
She had worked for many years at Cooper Kraus and Heinz in the factory as a welder. She had also worked at Mac Plastics and Bobbie Brooks and was a caretaker at Breese Personal Care Home and Humbert Lane.
June was a football fan and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. She also enjoyed playing bingo and casino games. She especially enjoyed watching old game shows on the Game Show Network.
On April 1, 1967, she married Richard Sim, who passed away July 3, 1987.
Surviving are a daughter, Michele Moore of Claysville; a son, David (Angela) Sim of Claysville; two brothers, Gordon (Donna) Finnegan of Warren, Ohio and Ralph (Sue) Finnegan of Conroe, Texas; a sister, Wilma (Bill) Doxator of Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Darla Hughey, Georgia (fiance Luke Desmond) Sim, and Justin Sim; a great-grandson, Eli Hughey; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Pete, Harold, Ron, Fred and Reid Finnegan; and three sisters, Leota Hewitt, Evelyn Harrington, and Kathy Williams.
June’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Washington Hospital Critical Care Unit doctors, nurses, and staff for their exceptional care.
