Michael A. “Mickey” Mazza, 88, of Houston, formerly of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 11, 2023, in Premier Washington Health Center.

He was born July 25, 1934, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Michael and Margaret Valinote Mazza.

Mr. Mazza was a lifelong resident of Canonsburg, a faithful member of St. Patrick Church of St. Oscar Romero Perish and a graduate of Canonsburg High School, class of 1952, always serving on the class reunion committee.

He then attended Robert Morris College, before proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force.

Prior to his retirement, Mickey was a salesman for Andy Brothers Tire, but was best known for being an owner in the family business, The Royal Grill, for many years.

He was an avid golfer, being a member of Washington Country Club for many years, and a season ticket holder of the Pittsburgh Steelers for 50 years.

Mickey truly loved meeting daily for over 30 years with his Canonsburg buddies for coffee and fellowship.

He enjoyed entertaining family and friends with his wife, at their pool, especially the Fourth of July, and that pool party was epic.

On May 7, 1960, he married his devoted wife, Janice Buquet, who survives after 62 years of marriage. Also left to cherish his memory are his beloved daughters, Michelle Henderson and her husband, John, of Bridgeville, Marsha Davis and her husband, Ed, of Canonsburg and Karen Luginski and her husband, Mark, of North Strabane Township; six grandsons, Joseph (Claire) Henderson, Keith (Geneva) Henderson, Eddie (Kayleigh) Davis, Douglas (Rachel) Harrison, Michael and Nicholas Harrison; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mickey was the last of his immediate family.
